Compatibility modes
A compatibility mode is a collection of values and settings specific for a single target game. Each game the editor supports will have it's own compatibility mode. When working in the editor, one of the first things to do is select which compatibility mode should be active.
The settings stored per compatibility mode describe the following :
- The minimum and maximum number of colums and rows of grids or tiles a map can have.
- The maximum size in pixels of the width and height of tiles on the map.
- The scale modes the editor supports, which allows zooming out while editing.
- A list of compatible tile sets and styles, and for each of those the number of valid sprites.
- A list of the default sprites (or the last used sprite) for various grid layers.

Technospire maps are always 25 colums wide and 19 rows high.
Grids are 48x48 pixels by default, a scale mode of 1/2 is supported in the editor.
Behaviours for entities are not supported.
