Randomizer Style Editing
Two different panels are used to edit a randomizer. One panel controls the minimum and maximum settings of various stats, the other panel allows to select which sprites of a certain style and set combo are available to this randomizer. The second panel can only be accessed from the first panel, which in turn can be opened from the editor's menu or from the background layer panel, if the type of that background is set to random.
Randomizer main stats
TODO : screenshot
The main overview of the randomizer allows to edit various stats affecting all images this randomizer has access to. At the very top of the panel, one can browse between the maximum 8 randomizers a map has access to, even if some of those are not in use.
Under the randomizer selector, the general image stats can be edited : the set and style can be chosen, and the random chance can be set. A single randomizer has access to one single set and style combo at once, which means up to maximum 64 images, depending on how many images are in this particular set/style combo. The chance determines how many of the gridslots affected by this randomizer will receive a random detail image. This section of the overview panel also allows to select which sprites should be used by the randomizer, which opens the sprite selection panel (for more info on that panel, see below).
Further down, the hue minimum and maximum values can be set, as well as the opacity (A) and brightness (B) values. As with other panels, these selectors can be controlled by the arrow keys by placing the mouse cursor over the name of the value you wish to edit.
Under these settings, flip and rotation settings can be edited. If flip is set of 'off', chosen images will never be flipped. If flip is set to V or to H, there's 50% chance that a chosen image will be flipped along either axis (and 50% chance that the image is not flipped). If flip is set to both V and H, there's 25% chance that an image will be flipped along either axis, 25% that the image is flipped along both axes at once and 25% of no flip occuring.
The rotate settings allow to toggle which orientations (north, east, south and west) should be considered for the detail images produced by the randomizer. At least one of the options must be on at all times. By default, only north (i.e. no rotation) will be active.
Then there are selectors to adjust the X and Y offset ranges. These values can range from -31 to +32 and are measured from the top left corner of the containing gridslot. If the 'Cutoff' option is set to 'off', images with an offset can spill over into neighbouring slots. If this option is set to 'on' instead, the part of an image that would overlap a neighbouring slot will be cut off instead.
Finally, there's a counter that shows you the number of tiles that are affected by this randomizer.
The 'Preview' toggle can be used to simulate what the results of the randomizer looks like. Everytime this toggle goes from 'off' to 'on', a new random preview will be generated. Note, that while a preview is active, any changes you make to the settings above will not update this preview in realtime - this option will have to be set to 'off' and then back to 'on' to see any changes in action.
The 'Back' button will return to the previous screen, i.e. the screen from which the randomizer overview panel was opened. The 'escape' button on the keyboard can be used to achieve the same result.
Sprite selection
TODO : screenshot
The sprite selection panel allows to choose which individual images of the selected set for the active randomizer should be included. When the randomizer selects an image to be used for a certain slot, it will only choose from those images that have been selected in this panel.
At the very top of the panel, you can browse the entire image set. As only 16 images are shown per 'page', there can be up to 4 pages with images. The images are shown without any of the settings of the randomizer style applied to them.
To select or unselect images, simply click them. Unselected images will shown dimmed with a red X on top of them. Under the 16 images on each page, there are options to select all or none of the images on this particular page. Underneath these options there's a counter telling you how many of the sprites in this set are currently selected.
The 'render bkg tile' option can be used to show what the images look like on top of a background tile. The background tile depends on the currently selected slot. Note that this option is not available is no slot is selected or if the selected slot doesn't have a random type background layer.
The 'Back' button will return to the randomizer overview screen.
